The Solution

A Complete Wellness Lineup for Youth in Custody

Mendocino's install covers the full spectrum — strength, cardio, guided lower-body work, and mobility/recovery — so a juvenile population can train safely across fitness levels. Outdoor-Fit supplied five stations rated for ages 13+: Helios Multigym, Versa Hi-LO Pulley System, Everest Cardio Climber, Flex Multi-Stretch, Pro-Drive Squat Press

The equipment also ships with full-color instructional placards — step-by-step technique, safety best practices, and clear illustrations for visual learners — and Outdoor-Fit’s structured programming lets staff run guided fitness classes as a positive-behavior incentive, so inmates of any experience level can train correctly and independently, with minimal staff involvement.

Helios Multigym

Helios Multigym — A six-station correctional multigym for up to four users and 50+ bodyweight exercises, featuring chin-up and dip stations with Outdoor-Fit's chin/dip assist mechanism so all fitness levels can train, plus a plyo box, back extension, knee raise, and calf-raise step. Heavy-duty steel with tamperproof hardware and QR-linked placards.

Versa Hi-LO Pulley System

Versa Hi-LO Pulley System — Outdoor-Fit's most compact strength station, delivering 25+ full-body exercises in under 50 sq ft. High and low selectorized pulleys share a 100 lb weight stack adjustable 10-100 lb; the pop-pin rides in a reinforced security track with nothing removable, and staff can lock or disable it. ADA-accessible and weather-resistant.

Everest Cardio Climber

Everest Cardio Climber — A single-user, cadence-powered stair climber offering strength- or cardio-focused modes with no electronics or external resistance, so intensity is set by the user's stroke and pace. Developed with the Kinesiology department at Dalhousie University for biomechanically sound movement; tamperproof and weather-resistant for high-frequency use.

Flex Multi-Stretch

Flex Multi-Stretch — A four-station mobility and recovery station (single user, 18+ stretches) with an integrated rubber roller for myofascial release, designed with a certified chiropractic physician for biomechanically correct stretching. Fully static and tamperproof with no removable parts, it is a low-risk wellness addition for flexibility and injury prevention.

Pro-Drive Squat Press

Pro-Drive Squat Press — A guided lower-body strength station targeting the glutes, quads, and hamstrings through a controlled squat movement, with a fully enclosed 100 lb selectorized weight stack adjustable in 10 lb increments and adjustable shoulder pads for proper form. Tamperproof heavy-duty steel, with no removable components for secure use.
